Web design is as much of an art as it is a science. While your website can have immaculate coding, if it isn’t designed in a way to make it interesting to visitors, your site will quickly sink to the bottom of search engine results. Instead, you need to put some effort into making your website interesting for your target audience. Below are seven ways how.

1. Offer Live Chat

If you really want to sell your products or services through your website, there is nothing quite like a live chat to help increase the possibility of that happening. Internet users like interactivity, and direct human interaction is the best way to accomplish that. Think of it like having a salesperson on the floor of a digital store. Visitors can ask any questions they have and get immediate feedback. It can certainly boost sales.

2. Implement Intuitive Design

If you want to keep users engaged when they visit your website, you need to implement an intuitive design philosophy. Navigation should be very simple. Even a child should be able to figure out how to move from page to page on your website with a single glance. Links should be easily identified, and how to perform different functions should be immediately apparent. If your website design is confusing and requires a learning curve, most people will leave within the first several seconds.

3. Give Visitors a Voice

If you want to produce loyal visitors to your site, you need to give them the ability to express their views and opinions. One way to do this is through comment sections. If you post blog articles, allowing comments can help make your site much livelier. People may spend more time on your site simply to read through all the comments in addition to the content you post. A forum or message board is another excellent way to build a community on your website.

4. Publish Videos

An increasingly important part of internet marketing is video. If you want to get visitors interested in what you do, there’s nothing quite like a video that they can click on to watch to accomplish that. 36 percent of smartphone users watch TV and movies on their smart phones. You can reach these people by providing captivating video content. Also make use of subtitling services to widen your reach even more.

5. Localize Your Content

To get people interested in something, you need to focus on things that affect their lives. Discussing issues and topics that concern their local community can certainly do that. If your business centers on certain cities or territories, localizing your content for those communities is an excellent way to produce a loyal viewership of citizens from those places. It can help increase the time spent on your site and raise your profile as a business within those communities.

6. Optimize Your Site for Mobile

One way to scare people away from your site is to not optimize it for use on mobile devices. A whopping 80 percent of internet users own a smartphone. Today, most internet usage is done via mobile devices. You need to make sure your website is easy to browse on a smartphone or tablet. If you provide a frustrating mobile experience, on the other hand, your website will suffer as a result.

7. Hold a Podcast

Another option you may have not considered is holding a regular podcast on your website. If appropriate for your business, you could use the podcast to discuss new products, answer customer questions, perform interviews and much more. A podcast is pretty much like a radio show on the internet. They are very popular and can be a great way to drive traffic to your website and market products.

Overall, make an effort to provide interesting content on your website. Also make it easy to navigate for your users and supply website features they can interact with. If you do so, you are likely to produce a popular website with a loyal viewership.
