When people discuss advances in technology, the conversation often touches upon how quickly things are moving: one barely gets their hands on the latest iPhone or tablet before it is, effectively, obsolete. While it is difficult to ignore the rapidly shifting nature of mobile technologies, Sebastian Thalanany, the author of Mobile Evolution: Insights on Connectivity and Service, encourages us to take a new point of view: the confluence of this technology and art, and the profound impact of interdisciplinary and interdependent considerations in this blended landscape.

The lens of experience is shaped by the virtually boundless modalities of an artistic and appealing rendering of innovative technology architectures and designs. It is through the compelling vistas of experience that human endeavor blooms and flourishes, along the journey of life. The treasures of value are embedded in the creation and delivery of mobile services. The ideas and insights that shape these services are intrinsically interdisciplinary, and are applicable across a variety of subjects, such as leadership, technology, strategy, and well-being. In other words they form a holistic fabric of thought, which can serve a variety of subjects, while managing complexity, promoting scalability, and broadening applicability.

Thalanany, who advises organizations in pioneering interoperable capabilities, has made a name for himself in a constantly shifting world of mobile technology. His knowledge of the history of the mobile Internet, as well as its impacts on society and culture, make him uniquely qualified to foresee the future of this continually changing field. With Mobile Evolution: Insights on Connectivity and Service, he hopes to provide others with a window into this fascinating and rich world, while encouraging even greater progress.

Connectivity and service are words with multiple meanings in Thalanany’s book, which is due for release March 10, 2015. Connectivity refers to the literal tie of a mobile device to a greater, worldwide network. However, there is also an implication of connectivity in thought and the importance of viewing technology as part of a bigger picture that relates to art and culture, rather than within a vacuum. Service can refer to the ability of a mobile device to connect, but can also unleash the ability of technology to improve and inspire humanity.

Thalanany’s truly expert tome is sure to provoke expansive ideas in interdisciplinary thinking. He hopes that Mobile Evolution: Insights on Connectivity and Service can be a catalyst, manifesting in the creation of technology designs and architectures that render a compelling human experience.

Sebastian Thalanany advises organizations on the adoption of forward-looking and interoperable capabilities in the evolution of the mobile communications ecosystem.  He advocates and influences the direction of ideas, consensus, and the progression of global standardization initiatives, in the development of emerging mobile Internet – fourth-generation LTE (Long Term Evolution) systems (4G), directions towards 5G (fifth generation) along a generational hierarchy of evolution starting from the 1G (First Generation) mobile systems of the last millennium, just over a couple of decades ago.

His interests, research, passion, and experience are grounded in holistic perspectives that span interdependent, interdisciplinary, innovative, and experiential aspects of mobile multimedia services, within a landscape of human well-being.
