SAN JOSE, Calif. — Nov. 15, 2011 Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2011 “Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management”* research report. Adobe® was one of 20 vendors evaluated in the report. The evaluation criteria for a vendor’s ability to execute included product/service, overall viability, sales execution/pricing, market responsiveness and track record, marketing execution, customer experience and operations. Criteria for completeness of vision included market understanding, marketing strategy, sales strategy, offering/product strategy, business model, vertical/industry strategy, innovation and geographic strategy.

“Gartner’s report affirms the key role of Web Content Management as part of a larger digital marketing strategy for engaging and serving customers,” said Kevin Cochrane, vice president of product strategy and solution marketing, Adobe. “Our Web Experience Management solution, coupled with the Adobe Digital Marketing Suite, is the right choice for marketers tasked with attracting new audiences, delivering targeted content and optimizing multi-channel outreach for increasing click-throughs, conversions and revenue.”

Adobe’s Web Experience Management solution, formerly CQ5.4 from Adobe, enables enterprises to optimize their digital channels to acquire new customers, capture customer insight and deliver personalized content that leads to increased conversion rates and brand engagement. The Adobe Digital Marketing Suite offers an integrated and open platform for online business optimization, a strategy for using customer insight to drive innovation throughout the business and enhance marketing efficiency.

According to Gartner, “Leaders should drive market transformation. Leaders have the highest combined scores for Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. They are doing well and are prepared for the future with a clear vision. They have strong channel partners, a presence in multiple regions, consistent financial performance, broad platform support and good customer support. In addition, they dominate in one or more technologies or vertical markets. Leaders are aware of the ecosystem into which their own offerings need to fit. Leaders can demonstrate enterprise deployments, offer integration with other business applications and content repositories, and provide vertical-process or horizontal-solution focus.”

Gartner states, “The WCM software market achieved total worldwide revenue of $1 billion in 2010, despite recessions in many major economies, and Gartner forecasts that it will reach $1.2 billion in 2011.” The report also states, “Gartner projects that the WCM software market will see a compound annual growth rate of 14% from 2009 to 2014, approximately twice that of the overall enterprise software market. This growth has led WCM to constitute a greater proportion of the overall enterprise content management (ECM) market than ever. In 2010, WCM accounted for more than 27% of this market.”
