Apple reportedly plans to kick Google Maps to the curb and put out its own mapping application for iOS. The friction caused by the companies’ smartphone rivalry may have caused Google to limit Apple’s use of its mapping technology. For example, turn-by-turn navigation isn’t built into Maps for iOS, but it’s a feature many Android users get for free.
