Enterprise cloud adoption continues to grow due to Bluelock’s unique customer approach

(Indianapolis, Ind. – August 14, 2012) – Bluelock, a certified VMware vCloud® Datacenter provider of Virtual Datacenters hosted in the public cloud, announces continued strong enterprise growth as the company closes out the first half of 2012. Bluelock continues to witness rapid adoption of its Virtual Datacenters (VDCs) within the midsize and large enterprise and expanding its footprint within the industry, with new customers including organizations such as VMware vFabric™ Application Director, F5 Networks, eMeter (Siemens), Codesigned, and Pitney Bowes. Bluelock’s growth in its Virtual Datacenter revenue exceeds 50% on a year over year comparison.

The company also continues to gain national recognition within the industry, being named to Network World’s list of “10 most powerful IaaS companies,” CRN’s 2012 100 Coolest Cloud Computing Vendors list, Nine Lives Media’s Talkin’ Cloud 100 report and having Bluelock CTO Pat O’Day included in a “Top 10 Cloud Influencers, Thought Leaders” feature on Wired.com. All of this comes on the heels of Gartner, Inc. positioning Bluelock in the “Leaders” quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) in December 2011.

“We are extremely proud of our team’s accomplishments and growth, as it’s a strong testament to our ability to understand the enterprise’s cloud needs better and the value that we provide to our clients,” said Christopher Clapp, CEO, Bluelock. “As midsize and large enterprises face growing pressure to increase business agility, our ability to provide enterprises with flexible Virtual Datacenter resources and transparent visibility into their infrastructure resources and costs positions us for continued growth in the second half of 2012.”

Bluelock Virtual Datacenters take minutes to set up, either through the vCloud Director-based self-service interface or with Bluelock’s managed services team. Users can build new virtual machines (VMs) quickly from public and private catalogs of VM templates, or simply upload VMs they already have running in an environment. With Bluelock Virtual Datacenters, users can easily subtract and add capacity as they go, paying for only what is used. With the ability to upload and download any VMware-compatible workloads, users can easily migrate VMDK files to and from Bluelock’s public cloud. The solution is built on open standards with Open Virtualization Format (OVF) packaging for the transport of workloads and interoperability, with additional support for the VMware vCloud API.

Customer Quotes

F5 Networks: “Migrating F5’s DevCentral™ global community to the cloud wouldn’t have worked with just any cloud provider,” said Jeff Browning, senior director of online strategy, F5 Networks. “To complete the migration in our timeframe with an environment that supported F5 technology, we needed a cloud partner with an enterprise frame of mind not only committed to a successful implementation, but also our long-term success in the cloud—both from a financial and technical perspective. Bluelock was that partner. With their help, we’re well positioned for our next phase of growth equipped with the agility our developers desire while maintaining the security and best practices enterprise IT demands.”

eMeter (Siemens): “Bluelock has been instrumental in making our hybrid cloud strategy a reality,” said Bryan Bond, senior systems administrator, eMeter (Siemens). “Our Bluelock Virtual Datacenters look and act like an extension of our own datacenter, and while the cost savings have been beneficial, the development team has more flexibility than ever and that means we can create new options for our customers in the future. We couldn’t be happier with the results of this relationship.”

VMware: “Our ability to use multiple Bluelock Virtual Datacenters for hosting VMware vFabric™ Application Director for our design partners to collaborate with us has been instrumental in creating the agility needed to continually enhance and improve this solution. Bluelock environment provides us with the high performance, dependability and quick turnaround that we require for our aggressive project timelines,” said Usha Parsa, staff product manager, VMware. “Bluelock is a true partner and is a fitting example of what VMware vCloud® hosting should be.”

Bluelock will be attending the following upcoming conferences: VMworld 2012 (August 26-30), Gartner Outsourcing & Strategic Partnerships Summit (September 10–12), Gartner Symposium/ITxpo (October 21-25) and Gartner Application Architecture, Development & Integration Summit (November 27-29).
