FALLS CHURCH, Va., Nov 04, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — CSC announced today that it received the “Public Sector Outsourcing Project of the Year” and “Innovation in Outsourcing” awards at the 7th annual National Outsourcing Association’s (NOA) Best Practice in Outsourcing Awards. CSC was the only organization to receive awards in two categories this year.

The NOA Best Practice in Outsourcing Awards celebrate the top developments, contracts and innovation within the outsourcing space and have become a landmark in positioning outsourcing as a key business function and practice. CSC received the “Public Sector Outsourcing Project of the Year” for the UK Department of Health’s Dynamic Desktop project. This award recognized the implementation of CSC’s innovative desktop virtualization solution, Dynamic Desktop, which is enabling the Department of Health to meet challenging efficiency and green targets.

CSC was also awarded the “Innovation in Outsourcing” award for the implementation of cloud-based office services to 28,000 Royal Mail Group employees. This ground-breaking project demonstrates CSC’s ability to combine best-of-breed cloud-based technology with an innovative approach to commercial models, to deliver a solution that is focused on meeting Royal Mail’s business needs.

“We are delighted to have received these two prestigious awards for implementing innovative technologies and services that have delivered transformational change at lower cost for our clients,” said Andy Williams, president of CSC’s Northern Europe business operations.

Speaking at the awards, Martyn Hart, chairman of the NOA commented, “Outsourcing is on the up and the awards are a fantastic opportunity for professionals within the industry to come together and celebrate the years’ successes. Professionals have predicted high growth rates for outsourcing as the public sector increasingly looks to move contracts towards the private sector. It’s wonderful to recognize the innovation and developments that have taken place in the past year and look towards the future.”

The 17 award categories cover all areas of outsourcing and have attracted hundreds of applications. The most impressive entries were then whittled down into a short list of nominees before a panel of outsourcing experts selected the winners.
