Washington, D.C. – October 23, 2012 –WhereScape, a Teradata partner since 2006 and provider of agile development software for building and extending data warehouses, announced today that Delta Community Credit Union has purchased WhereScape RED to develop an enterprise data warehouse running the Teradata (NYSE: TDC) database on a Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance.  The announcement was made at Teradata PARTNERS, where WhereScape is demonstrating its Teradata data warehouse modeling and development solutions in booth #616.

Delta Community Credit Union is Georgia’s largest credit union with assets exceeding $4 billion and more than 250,000 members.  Delta Community provides its members with an array of financial products including checking and savings accounts, credit card services, insurance, investment and financial programs.  To be even more responsive to the financial needs of its fast-growing membership, Delta Community is developing an enterprise data warehouse to consolidate and analyze member information.

The company selected Teradata for its data warehouse platform and is using WhereScape RED in a “prototype and iterate” approach to rapidly create Teradata native objects, including tables, models, views and indexes, as well as set-based procedures and load scripts to extract, transform and load data in the data warehouse.  The first project currently under development is membership analytics.

“WhereScape RED’s tight integration with Teradata and built-in best practices are empowering our resource-constrained development team to tackle a large implementation that will enable us to quickly deliver value to our institution and members,” said Delta Community Director of Business Intelligence Services Su Rayburn.  “WhereScape’s agile, iterative development approach is ideal for us as it helps us quickly identify and adapt to changing business priorities.”

“WhereScape has emerged as a leading provider of database-specific solutions for quickly modeling, prototyping, documenting, building, deploying as well as extending enterprise data warehouses,” added Claudia Imhoff, president of Intelligent Solutions and founder of the Boulder BI Brain Trust, a gathering of leading BI analysts, experts, and practitioners.  “Companies are operating with leaner IT staffing and budgets making WhereScape RED an attractive alternative for agile data warehouse and mart creation. Additionally, these targeted BI solutions can be easily adapted as business dictates.”

Tightly Integrated with Teradata Database and Appliances

Customers utilize RED to develop a Teradata analytic data platform. WhereScape RED is tuned to accelerate time-to-results by generating Teradata native Structured Query Language, Data Description Language, and load utilities through a fully featured user interface that employs a comprehensive list of Teradata best practices.  All Teradata objects authored by WhereScape RED are automatically documented and easily deployed to both business users and technical audiences for easy source traceability.

“We provide Teradata customers a proven, seamless and integrated solution for quickly developing data warehouses that deliver value to the business much faster,” added WhereScape CEO Michael Whitehead.  “WhereScape RED helps mitigate development risks and provides a fully documented, easily extendable data warehouse environment.”
