The Swedish city Lulea will be home to Facebook’s next planned data center. Lying very close to the Arctic Circle, the city’s year-round low temperatures will keep the data center’s equipment cool with minimal need for energy-gobbling air conditioners. Facebook says the facility will be almost entirely powered by hydroelectricity.
