Radnor, PA – 10 October 2012

QlikTech, (NASDAQ: QLIK) a leader in Business Discovery – user-driven Business Intelligence (BI), today announced the availability of QlikView Governance Dashboard, a free product that provides QlikTech customers with visibility into their QlikView deployments, enabling them to maximize data governance practices and optimize their QlikView investment. Available for download today on QlikMarket, QlikTech’s recently launched Web marketplace, the QlikView Governance Dashboard enables IT professionals to discover how QlikView is being used in order to create a more manageable and repeatable process for developing QlikView applications.

The free app is meant to help QlikView customers where business groups are rapidly assembling Business Discovery applications on their own, often pulling from common operational or pre-aggregated data sources. Although business users have self-service access to the information they want, IT subsequently finds they need to manage an increasingly complex landscape of QlikView applications and associated business rules and data integration logic.

“There are redundant definitions for the same use of data in different apps, each defining data integration mechanisms or common business metrics,” said Jeff Boehm, vice president of global product marketing at QlikTech. “This can lead to inconsistent results, which will ultimately undermine business users’ confidence in the integrity of the data. With this new governance dashboard, IT can have better visibility and understanding of how QlikView is being used across the organization and what data the QlikView apps are using. Together QlikView Expressor and the Governance Dashboard provide critical capabilities for IT teams growing and managing QlikView deployments across their organization.”

Providing Discipline at the Core while Maintaining Flexibility at the Edges
As QlikView deployments grow across an organization, the need to apply best practices of any enterprise IT deployment become important. It is essential that this is done in a way that the speed and flexibility that QlikView is known for are not minimized. The QlikView Governance Dashboard helps organizations who are balancing the need for manageability and governance of deployments with the speed and flexibility that are essential to any QlikView deployment.

Improving the User Experience for IT
IT professionals are tasked with maintaining IT systems and having insight into their operations so that they can predict and mitigate the impact of changes. The QlikView Governance Dashboard allows IT organizations to save time and resources by deploying quickly across the enterprise with a repeatable and consistent view of common business and data definitions. It gives them a single location providing a 360-degree view of their entire QlikView deployment, providing confidence and trust in the data they use and re-use because there is a secure data governance framework in place.

Associative Experience Powered by QlikView
Users of the QlikView Governance Dashboard benefit from the fact that the dashboard is a QlikView application – built using QlikView itself and putting the power of its unique associative experience in the hands of IT professionals who use it to quickly discover insights into the operations of their QlikView deployment. With these insights, IT professionals can make decisions ranging from the allocation of new databases to support a QlikView application to adding additional server horsepower.

Product Availability

The QlikView Governance Dashboard is available for free and available for download today on QlikMarket. The QlikView Expressor Server, QlikTech’s powerful metadata intelligence solution, is available immediately in standard and enterprise versions.
