How To Have A User-Friendly Website

Having a website is a must when you run a business, no matter whether you are selling products from it or not. Many people prefer to do their business solely online, and if you have no website, you just won’t be seen. Yet having a website isn’t enough – it also needs to be user-friendly and inviting so that people will be happy to visit and return. Here are some ways to ensure that your website is as user-friendly as possible.

Make It Responsive

A responsive website is one that will work just as well on mobile devices as it would on a laptop or desktop. More than half of all online searches are conducted on a mobile device, so not being mobile-friendly will instantly put many people off using you. With a good business website builder, the hard work is done for you, and you can choose from dozens of different mobile-friendly templates, for example. This is such an easy thing to get right, but something that could make all the difference to your sales figures.

Contact Information

One of the most important pages on your website is the one that includes your contact information. This is what many people are actually searching for when they look for information about you, and if this page is missing or has inaccurate information on it, they won’t be able to get in touch to ask questions or even to buy from you. They might not even be able to tell you that anything is wrong because they don’t have the information there on your site to do it. The more information you can include, the more likely people will be to contact you, and you will have the chance to make a sale.

Product Information

Listing your products on your website is essential as you need to let people know what it is you are selling. However, simply listing them and not giving any additional information is not enough. You need to include as much information as possible so that someone considering buying from you has all the details they need to make a decision. If information is missing it is more likely that potential customers will look at a different site than phone you to ask for the additional details.

Easy Content

Although there will be times when people are happy to read through long pieces of content on a website when they are wanting to buy something they are going to want to be able to get all the information quickly and easily. Make the content easy to read (or even easy to skim) and you will save your customers time, which will make them like your website more than ever.

Add A Search Function

To really make things easy for people, add a search bar function to your website. That way, potential customers will be able to find exactly what they want quickly and easily. If they are unable to find what they want, they will leave, and it will be hard to persuade them to come back again once they have gone and found someone else to buy from.
