IBM’s SmartCloud Orchestrator effort stems from the need to balance low-cost public cloud resources with their generally better-secured and more tightly controlled — but higher cost — private cloud alternatives. It should have the effect of improving interoperability between public cloud offerings and private cloud products from different vendors as well.
