Knoa Survey Results Identify Key Trends Within the Application Performance Management (APM) Market

NEW YORK, October 1, 2012Knoa® Software, the leading provider of user experience and performance management software, today announced results of a survey conducted during its recent webinar entitled “Thinking of Application Performance Management? Don’t Do It. Find Out More.” Knoa polled global information technology professionals across a broad range of functions about their overall satisfaction with Application Performance Management (APM), features used, performance, diversity of use of APM tools, use cases for APM tools and other relevant information to the market.

The Knoa survey results revealed that 100% of all respondents have experienced performance problems with at least 30% of their applications. To combat this, the majority of respondents (75%) are currently using an APM monitoring tool, while more than 35% have a basic user experience management (UEM) tool in place. Surprisingly, only half of APM users were satisfied or extremely satisfied with their current APM toolset.

The most striking data was that over 85% of the participants said they knew the number of systems errors their applications experienced on a daily basis, yet a majority of them still did not know the number of user errors experienced on a daily basis. Knoa’s proprietary data shows that prior to the use of Knoa Software, approximately 91.6% of all errors involving major enterprise applications is user error and/or master data error. Knoa’s EPM analytics software enables the first dashboard views to this data for CIOs and line of business executives.

“Right now CIO’s are flying blind. Our analysis shows that only one in eight user errors are actually reported. The lost productivity, impact to the business operations and decline in application adoption are significant,” said Michael Zuckerman, chief marketing officer for Knoa Software. “Knoa can provide visibility to user errors whether or not they are reported. By correlating application performance at each user’s desktop with user performance, and presenting it in a single view, we enable powerful solution sets that can bring almost immediate and substantial return on investment to the business.”
