Nyse Technologies Makes Performance Upgrade Of Its Middleware Platform

August 4, 2011 No Comments

NYSE Technologies, the global commercial technology unit of NYSE Euronext (NYX), today announced the immediate availability of a significant performance upgrade of its middleware platform, Data Fabric™. This latest version of Data Fabric™ introduces Multiverb™, an innovative messaging transport that provides the basis for next generation data distribution. Customers will benefit from dramatically lower operational expenses, higher speeds, improved flexibility and industry-leading performance.

“Generally, messaging software has not innovated as rapidly as hardware, and has become a critical bottleneck to maximizing system performance. This has put our customers under immense pressure to  ensure their technology systems are robust and scalable enough to handle the expanding volumes of data processed by mission-critical applications across their enterprise,” said Brian Doherty, Global Product Manager of NYSE Technologies Enterprise Software. “Data Fabric is revolutionizing the industry because it redresses that balance by utilizing a range of new features and technology including our newly developed Multiverb™ technology that we believe delivers a level of performance beyond anything currently available.”

NYSE Technologies used Intel’s Customer Response Team datacenter in DuPont WA for part of the comprehensive Data Fabric™ testing and performance verification process.  Data Fabric Multiverb™ was deployed onto 360 Intel Westmere class servers with Mellanox C-X2 cards and a QDR Infiniband network. More than a million 200 byte messages per second were published to 1,000 clients with an average latency of 4.5 microseconds and a 99.99 percentile latency of 19 microseconds.

“The outstanding performance that Data Fabric achieved though the implementation of Multiverb highlights the scaling of Intel servers & modern Network technologies,” said Paresh Pattani – Director of Software and Services Group at Intel Corporation.

NYSE Technologies Data Fabric™is a leading platform for low latency, high throughput, scalable application messaging. It maximizes the processing power of multi-core CPUs and network hardware with fast, application-level memory access. Data Fabric™ also supports a range of transport types: Local Direct Memory Access (LMDA), Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA), and direct TCP sockets.
