OpenText eDOCS and Legal Solutions Achieves Landmark Growth

August 24, 2011 No Comments

OpenText announced today that it is continuing to see strong growth in the legal market for its eDOCS and Legal Solutions, seeing a rapid increase in new customers as the company has continued to make key technical advances.

The market has responded to OpenText s commitment to and investment in our eDOCS portfolio, said Todd Partridge, Vice President and General Manager of OpenText s eDOCS and Legal Solutions. Customers are telling us that eDOCS offers the value and functionality in demand at mid-sized businesses and law firms. We believe this growth positions OpenText as the premier document solutions provider for law firms and mid-sized enterprises.

Since 2006, OpenText has steadily invested in continuing to serve the legal vertical. The establishment of a top to bottom dedicated team focused on eDOCS and the legal market has given customers the sense of partnership they look for in a vendor. The release of eDOCS DM 5.3 in December was the most quickly downloaded release of OpenText eDOCS in its history — it was the first to bring Office 2010 support to the market. Significant R&D was also put into integrating eDOCS with nearly all aspects of the ECM Suite. This has allowed the existing eDOCS install base to realize the benefits of the same industry leading information governance, business process management, and customer engagement solutions that other OpenText enterprise customers enjoy.

In response to this growth, and to help the growing eDOCS customer base continue to experience value from being part of a vibrant community, OpenText has created a new website for law firm, corporate legal departments and legal users in government. This website, which can be found at, contains a rich mix of business-focused information including product information, examples of the success other eDOCS customers are finding with eDOCS solutions, quick links to the eDOCS Knowledge Base, support tickets, and information on training, webinars and events.

The OpenText team obviously spent a lot of time during the design process focusing on the specific resources needed by the eDOCS and Legal Solutions user communities, and I believe the site will become an essential go to resource for us, said Paul C. Wittekind, Director of Information Technology Services for Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. I particularly like being able to access in one location case studies and other information that detail how our peers are creatively implementing OpenText and third-party integrations to meet their business challenges. I look forward to using their experiences to advance my firm s use of OpenText products.
