Top 4 Benefits Of Cloud Computing

Hand cloud

Cloud computing is a miracle of modern technology, and something that everyone, whether you run an online business, simply have a business website, or even blog for personal reasons, should be using. There are a vast number of benefits to cloud computing, and in many cases, you may already be using the cloud without realizing. After all, every time you update your status on social media or check your account balance on your smartphone, you are using the cloud. Here are some other great benefits of signing up for cloud computing today.

Flexibility

Using the cloud to run your business will give you a lot of flexibility, and in today’s ever-changing world that can be truly useful indeed. If your bandwidth needs increasing, for example, that is not a problem when using the cloud. It is easy to scale up when you need to. If you need to reduce how much bandwidth you are using, it’s just as easy to scale down again! You can move in any direction you need to ensure that your business and website are always running at optimum strength.

Using the cloud also means that you can work from wherever you want to, adding another layer of flexibility. You aren’t tied to a physical server, so you can choose your workplace, what time you work, and create a working schedule that truly suits you.

Recovery

Imagine spending time creating a fantastic website with the ever-useful Coder, only to find that it has all been lost due to a virus or glitch on your computer. Not only could you lose the web design you have spent many hours creating, but you could have lost a lot of your business information including customer details and orders. Without a website, businesses that are based solely online won’t be able to function.

If you have a cloud-based business and website, data recovery is easy and quick. Everything is stored in remote servers, allowing you to download it all locally should you lose it. That way, there will be minimal disruption to your business, and ideally, your customers won’t even notice that there was a problem.

Updates

Since you won’t be dealing with the servers directly (they are all remote), it won’t be your job to decide what to do about upgrades. It is the supplier who will ensure that the cloud servers are always as up to date as possible, and that is one less thing for you as a business owner to worry about. Not only do you not have to think about it, but the time that would have been spent dealing with server upgrades and maintenance can be put to better use elsewhere.

Pay Less

In most cases, using a cloud-based system will be on a ‘pay-as-you-go’ basis. Sometimes it is even free, although this will be for the very basic version, and if you want to upgrade or need more storage, you will then need to pay a fee. Without the cloud, you will need to spend money on a dedicated server, and that can cost hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. The cloud saves you money that can be used elsewhere in your business, helping you with your marketing efforts, for example.
