White Source, the leading provider of SaaS Open Source Lifecycle Management Solutions, announced today the general availability (GA) of the White Source Open Source (OSS) License Management Service. After six months in private and public beta, with dozens of customers, the company is officially releasing a GA version, and introduces new advanced features available in an affordable Premium package.

White Source provides a simple to use, yet powerful solution for companies that need to manage their open source assets to ensure license compliance and reduce risk. Leading developers and managers already use White Source’s free cloud-based solution to track, audit and report on OSS components throughout the software development lifecycle.

With the new GA version, White Source continues to offer a lightweight free package, limited to 20 development projects. The free package includes all the services necessary to manage OSS licenses, including inventory management, approval process, reports and operational alerts.

In addition, White Source now offers a paid Premium package which includes, in addition, the following advanced features:

  • Automated enforcement of organizational approval policies
  • Complex, enterprise-level review and approval workflows, including conditional approvals.
  • Advanced reports.
  • Alerts whenever new versions of open source components are released.

The Premium package is affordably priced at $200 a month, for 5 projects.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our beta customers for the great feedback they have provided us over the past few months” said White Source CEO Rami Sass. “We are thrilled to be releasing a GA version that was shaped in collaboration with our customers. The new features add to the recently released Maven integration, and the JNinka scanner, providing our customers with the best solution to address their OSS management needs.”

The company announced that it intends to add more Premium features, and more integrations with leading development platforms.
