Lincolnshire, IL, August 28, 2012 – Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a recognized global leader in technologies that extend real-time visibility into business operations, today announced the release of System Builder, an advanced planning software tool utilizing time difference of arrival (TDOA) to assist in designing accurate and scalable real time locating systems (RTLS). An industry first, System Builder provides customers with an easy-to-use tool that helps plan, deploy and optimize Zebra’s WhereNet and Dart Ultra Wideband (UWB) networks.

“System Builder is a game changer for businesses looking to implement RTLS solutions to gain better visibility into their operations,” said Todd Wazny, director of professional services for Zebra Technologies. “This tool helps businesses better design a system based on best practices across Zebra’s RTLS suite, easing deployment complexity, time and cost.”

System Builder enables customers to save time and money through advanced planning and modeling of an RTLS system. It simplifies the planning and design process with built-in tools via an intuitive installation wizard and user interface that helps determine proper placement of location sensors, helping eliminate improper designs. Following the installation process, System Builder assists customers in managing the deployment of hundreds of Zebra WhereNet and Dart UWB locating devices that are used to continually track assets, increase productivity and drive efficiency. Zebra is now offering System Builder globally.

“System Builder helps organizations make better decisions about asset tracking and management capabilities in planning for their RTLS systems,” said Wazny. “For example, a manufacturing organization with multiple buildings in one location can use this tool to easily install and scale out RTLS systems across its facility and gain visibility and traceability across all the buildings. By illuminating the events in the organization’s value chain with real-time data, Zebra helps it unlock improvements in operational performance.”

With extensive experience in providing visibility into an organization’s assets and operations, Zebra Technologies is now offering System Builder globally. Zebra’s WhereNet solutions provide the longest range RTLS capabilities and performance in an environment, including complex and hazardous locations, while its Dart UWB solutions accurately track personnel and equipment indoors and outside at the lowest cost-of-ownership in the industry.
