3 Smart Reasons to Use Mobile Apps to Improve Business Operations

May 3, 2017 No Comments

In a previous post, we took a closer look at Oracle Mobile, a new solution designed to help businesses develop better mobile apps faster. This new development platform enables businesses to offer advanced features, including chat bots and contextual content, without getting hampered by the complicated development process.

The main focus of Oracle Mobile is to allow businesses to interact with customers in real-time, providing them with better customer experience in general. What about using mobile apps to improve internal operations or functions? Is this a solution worth considering? There are three very smart reasons why the answer to these questions is yes.

Increasing Popularity of BYOD

In the old days, implementing a new solution meant investing in hundreds – sometimes even thousands – of new devices for employees to use. This was the best approach, since it made the long-term maintenance of the whole system more affordable and manageable at the same time. Today, however, the approach is rather obsolete.

Thanks to iOS and Android, companies no longer need to standardize the devices their employees use. They just need to apply a security and enterprise suite designed to prepare existing devices for corporate use. A portion of the devices will be manageable from a central command console, which means new apps and solutions can be integrated seamlessly.

Bring Your Own Device is becoming the way to go these days. Not only will team members be able to use their existing devices, they can also choose the devices they’re comfortable with the most. On the other hand, corporations can offer aids in purchasing new devices according to the standards they want to achieve. It’s a win-win solution.

Ready-Made Solutions for Mobile

The second reason why switching to mobile apps to streamline operations is a great idea is due to the existing solutions you can now choose from. There are plenty of ready-made solutions that can help improve parts of a business’s operations. There are even solutions designed to streamline everything from A to Z.

A Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is a good example of such a solution. CMMS software and solutions are designed to work with mobile devices to allow operators and maintenance specialists to be more efficient with their work. Information can be pulled and pushed in real-time thanks to cloud computing; you don’t even have to invest in servers to get started.

Speaking of investing….

High ROI

It is not a secret that mobile solutions, especially those marketed as Software as a Service or SaaS, offer the highest return on investment (ROI). There are no initial setup costs to worry about. The solutions can be used for an affordable monthly fee right out of the box.

This is an opportunity that must not be missed. As a matter of fact, many businesses are becoming more competitive on the market after turning to existing mobile-focused solutions to better support their operations. These three reasons and the wealth of advantages internal mobile apps can offer will help your business strive in today’s competitive market.
