Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), a leading software provider that enables enterprises to be operationally responsive, has today announced that Akhela, the IT company of Saras Group in Italy, is moving to a Responsive Process Management (RPM) strategy to make its internal processes more agile. Akhela implemented the Progress® Savvion® BPM suite, a Business Process Management (BPM) solution, and achieved real-time visibility on its business processes, improved automation and better insight into key business metrics. The BPM solution enables Akhela to better respond to business situations the instant they occur.

Created in 2004, Akhela has achieved consistently growing results and provides ICT services to national and international enterprise companies operating in the financial, industrial, utilities and energy markets. Using the Progress® Savvion® BPM Suite, Akhela is able to automate business processes for project management, human resources, auditing and administration, enabling people to directly map their operations to business processes and implement any new requirements without always involving IT.

Antonio Crobe, Operations Director at Akhela commented: “The Progress Savvion BPM suite is a robust solution that will help us support mission-critical services, to streamline our business processes, improving operational efficiency and bringing innovative solutions to the offering we provide our customers with. Progress’ team consistently demonstrated a deep knowledge of our business needs, and have already provided exceptional support during the initial requirements phase. Once the BPM solution is in place, it will form a key stepping stone in making us more operationally responsive as we take a more widespread RPM approach in the future.”

Dr M.A. Ketabchi, Chief Strategist at Progress Software, commented: “Akhela has a phenomenal amount of experience in providing IT services and, as a result, realized their need for a solution that could support its methodologies, competencies, procedures and systems, and operate in mission-critical environments. The Savvion BPM suite meets Akhela’s requirements, and our teams share the same passion for excellence. In supporting Akhela on the journey towards making its processes fully operationally responsive, Progress will help Akhela save time, provide real-time visibility, put users in charge and, ultimately, deliver innovation to its staff and customers.”

Progress is also providing Akhela with support and consultancy.
