Partnership will make Big Data available for analytics in both the cloud and enterprise data centers

BURLINGTON, MA & SUNNYVALE, CA– March 5, 2012 – Attunity Ltd. (OTC BB: ATTUF.OB), a leading provider of real-time data integration software, and Hortonworks, a leading commercial vendor promoting the development and support of Apache Hadoop, jointly announce today a partnership focused on the delivery of high-performance solutions to move Big Data in and out of Apache Hadoop. The partnership is designed to facilitate making Big Data available for use in business intelligence (BI) and analytics whether in the cloud or across enterprise data centers.

Organizations worldwide are struggling to turn Big Data into actionable business decisions. The planned combined solution provided by this partnership will enable enterprises to overcome this challenge and gain a competitive advantage through the use of BI and predictive analytics.

Specifically, the partnership will combine Hortonworks’ Apache Hadoop expertise with Attunity’s data integration technology, to facilitate loading of massive amounts of structured and unstructured data to the Apache Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). The Hortonworks Data Platform makes Apache Hadoop more robust and easier to install, manage and use while providing an open and stable foundation for enterprises to build and deploy Big Data solutions. Attunity’s data integration solutions are designed to provide a quick, simple and cost-effective means for moving large volumes of data from many sources into the Hortonworks Data Platform to facilitate storing, processing and analyzing data in data centers and in the cloud.

In a recent blog post, James Kobielus, Senior Analyst at Forrester Research, Inc., wrote: “Enterprise Hadoop deployments will expand at a rapid clip. The size of the in-deployment clusters will almost certainly grow at least tenfold in 2012 as companies roll new data sources, new analytic challenges, and new business applications into their Hadoop initiatives.”¹

“As the volume of data continues to grow, organizations worldwide are quickly adopting Hadoop to store, manage and process Big Data for use in analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), and decision support,” said Mitch Ferguson, Vice President of Business Development at Hortonworks. “Since data integration is traditionally one of the most time-consuming and challenging aspects in the Hadoop process, we are pleased to partner with Attunity. Working together, we can accelerate the adoption of Apache Hadoop by making it easier to deploy Big Data initiatives.”

“Organizations that are able to leverage Big Data can become smarter about their customers, operations and business environment,” explains Itamar Ankorion, VP of Business Development and Corporate Strategy at Attunity. “We believe that Attunity is uniquely positioned to facilitate the integration of Big Data with Hadoop, leveraging our robust portfolio of high-performance data integration and file transfer technologies. Our partnership with Hortonworks helps ensure that enterprises can make use of their Big Data and capitalize on the value of the Hadoop platform.” ¹Blog Post: “The Year Ahead In Big Data?
