Claraview’s Mobile Business Intelligence Solutions Available for Business Users

Claraview, a division of Teradata Corporation (NYSE: TDC), a strategy and technology consultancy focused exclusively on data warehousing and business intelligence (BI), today announced the availability of Mobile Business Intelligence (MBI) Solutions as a new addition to its service offerings. MBI offers several benefits to a varied user base of executives, middle and line managers, sales associates, and business analysts. These benefits include improvement in employee productivity (e.g., less time spent looking for information), better and faster decision making, flexible workflow, better customer service, and higher efficiency in business processes.

Demand for MBI solutions is growing as the use of mobile devices expands, according to leading industry analysts. One of the four key BI predictions according to the Gartner Predicts 2011 body of research is: “By 2013, 33 percent of business intelligence functionality will be consumed via handheld devices.”1 This means that business users across the organization today and in the future will expect to have the same user experience from their BI applications via Web, mobile phone, or tablet device irrespective of the platform used. They expect full interactivity with a wide range of reporting, analysis, and visualization tools to get real-time, bi-directional data access to make decisions anytime and anywhere.

Claraview MBI Solutions can help its clients meet user expectations and stay ahead of this paradigm shift. Claraview’s vendor-neutral approach to MBI is enhanced by its rich knowledge and experience across all major MBI products and applications from both large and small BI tool vendors. With Claraview, MBI customers can provide enhanced BI user-experiences through sophisticated and user-friendly mobile solutions based on the client’s business requirements – with their choice of MBI platform and device.

Claraview has developed several industry-specific mobile solutions, including Store Operations/Performance and Geospatial Dashboards for retailers, Risk Assessment Dashboards for property and casualty insurers, and financial dashboards for all industries. As an example, with Claraview’s Store Operations/Performance Dashboard for retailers, store managers conducting store visits can get access to all of the same BI reporting about a particular store on their iPad or other mobile device — that they have been getting at their workstations. The store manager can see information regarding sales, inventory, and marketing, and track the results of social media tie-ins directly on his iPad.

“Mobile has become mainstream, and organizations that enable BI access to a wider audience will allow their employees to stay connected and boost their productivity and responsiveness” said Dan Ross, Managing Partner, Claraview. “With Claraview’s deep BI expertise across all major MBI platforms and our industry-leading consultants, we help customers stay ahead of the curve in deploying analytics to a wide range of mobile devices that includes smart phones and tablets alike.”

Claraview will present its MBI solutions at the Gartner Business Intelligence Summit 2011, on May 2-4 in Los Angeles.
