Contactology Releases New REST Email API

October 20, 2010 No Comments

SOURCE: PR Newswire

Contactology, a provider of email marketing software and online survey technologies, announced today the successful release of V2 of its email API. The new API is based on a RESTful architecture allowing developers to easily integrate email with their own software products.

Providing customers with a free and open email API has been a priority of Contactology since its inception. V1 of the API was based on a SOAP architecture and will continue to be supported. However, new users will be encouraged to leverage the RESTful version that provides dozens of new function calls and easy to use wrappers.

The documentation for the email API is available online and can be accessed with a free Contactology account. Users only pay for the emails they send or the number of contacts uploaded into their account. There are no fees for using the function calls available in the email API.

Devin Ceartas of NacreData, a technology resource for the popular coffee roaster Larry’s Beans, is excited to begin exploring the new API. “I’m a fan of REST API’s,” said Ceartas. “They are much easier to work with and Contactology’s added an enormous amount of functionality to the REST version of their email API.”

Common email API integrations include synchronizing data from a CRM with Contactology’s email marketing software, adding open and click data to a contact record, and integrating other business process tools with email marketing. The options are limitless.

“By providing a robust email API, developers can easily add email marketing and newsletter management to their software systems,” said Drew Adams CEO of Contactology. “It allows technology partners to quickly and seamlessly add value to their products with email. It’s a great way to build additional revenue.”
