Eucalyptus Systems, creators of the most widely deployed on-premise infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform, today announced that the Eucalyptus private IaaS software is available as part of RightScale’s new myCloud management platform, announced today. A new edition of Eucalyptus called “Eucalyptus FastStart” — which is specially designed to be quick and easy to install — is bundled with the free version of RightScale’s myCloud management platform for private and hybrid clouds. RightScale will also offer the enterprise edition of Eucalyptus for organizations that require enterprise-grade private and hybrid cloud computing along with the automation of the RightScale Cloud Management Platform.

“The new RightScale myCloud solution is designed to make it extremely easy to set up and manage leading private clouds such as Eucalyptus as part of a multi-cloud environment,” said Michael Crandell, RightScale CEO. “An increasing number of customers are now migrating applications between public and private clouds, and Eucalyptus’ interface compatibility with Amazon AWS makes it an excellent choice for a hybrid cloud environment. We are pleased to offer Eucalyptus as part of myCloud to provide RightScale customers with a powerful private cloud choice.”

RightScale myCloud is designed to deliver easy-to-use, cost-effective and automated management of private and hybrid clouds under “one pane of glass.” With myCloud, organizations can quickly deploy and easily manage a Eucalyptus private cloud as part of a multi-cloud hybrid environment with public clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). The free edition of RightScale myCloud includes Eucalyptus FastStart to provide an easy way to test and deploy private cloud infrastructure with little financial or management risk. RightScale will also offer Eucalyptus Enterprise Edition with myCloud for organizations that want to deploy a highly elastic, scalable and high-performing private cloud solution with enterprise-grade features such as support for VMware-based virtualization environments.

“RightScale myCloud makes it easier than ever to deploy the powerful and robust Eucalyptus software for cost-effective private and hybrid clouds,” said Marten Mickos, Eucalyptus Systems CEO. “Representing the next level of integration between RightScale’s management platform and Eucalyptus, myCloud lets users easily move workloads between the industry standard public cloud, AWS, and Eucalyptus, with the visibility, control and management of RightScale.” For more information about Eucalyptus FastStart and RightScale myCloud, please go to www.eucalyptus.com/go/myCloud or email sales@eucalyptus.com.
