Information Builders, an independent leader in business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that its WebFOCUS BI platform was favorably reviewed by end users in Garner’s recent “BI Platforms User Survey, 2011: Customers Rate Their BI Platform Vendor Cost of Ownership.”
Conducted in November 2010 as part of its research for the “Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence Platforms” — in which Information Builders was positioned in the “Leaders” quadrant — the user survey asked BI professionals to rate the cost of various BI platform vendors as well as key components that contribute to the cost of a BI platform — ease of use, complexity of deployment, implementation fees, and overall business benefit — and the individual factors affecting these components across vendor type. Information Builders’ WebFOCUS platform offers the lowest cost per user, achieving above average ease of use, complexity of deployment, and overall business benefits.
“Cost is becoming an increasingly vital consideration for decision-makers when evaluating a BI platform, which makes our recognition as the vendor with the lowest cost of ownership across all categories an incredibly important distinction,” said Gerald Cohen, CEO and president of Information Builders. “Regardless of enterprise size or the type of vendor ultimately selected, it’s crucial that end users are confident they are getting the best value for their investment both at the start of the implementation and during the administration of the application life cycle. This has always been a goal for us at Information Builders, and we’re pleased that WebFOCUS is regarded as a sound strategy investment by users who report lower costs per user across all categories.”
