President Obama renewed his commitment to blanketing the U.S. with wireless broadband access in a speech on Thursday to a crowd at Northern Michigan University. The “new” initiative he unveiled is pretty much what he’s been proposing all along, but what may have changed is the administration’s focus. It seems the president and the FCC are now convinced the time is right to get the project under way.
