News Facts

Substantially simplifying hardware management in traditional, virtualized and cloud-based datacenter environments, Oracle today unveiled Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center.
Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center helps reduce hardware management costs by up to 90 percent through a unique converged approach to managing Oracle’s Sun hardware environments.  To help customers minimize cloud computing operational costs, Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center includes new hardware management capabilities for the engineered systems Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, as well as Oracle’s Sun ZFS Storage Appliance product line and Oracle’s network fabric.
With unified management capabilities across Oracle’s hardware and software, Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g provides an unparalleled solution for integrated application-to-disk management.

Hardware, Software and Management Engineered to Work Together

Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center introduces converged hardware management – a new approach to managing Oracle hardware investments focused on delivering simplicity and efficiency across the management tasks for all infrastructure assets. With this new approach customers can benefit from:
Integrated Infrastructure Management: Delivers the industry’s first solution to manage across physical and virtual environments, Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux operating systems, Oracle’s Sun SPARC and x86 servers including firmware, clusters, Sun storage and Oracle’s network fabric. These deep management solutions for Oracle’s Sun systems can reduce operating costs and maximize the value of Oracle hardware investments.
Integrated Application-to-Disk Management: Helps customers quickly identify and resolve problems across the stack by providing the deepest level of hardware management information and control to enable integrated application-to-disk fault management.
Integrated Lifecycle Management: Provides the most complete provisioning and patch automation for Oracle physical and virtual servers by introducing new end-to-end automated deployment plans. To help IT teams more confidently and easily deliver on business-level objectives, this release includes new datacenter dashboards, energy performance management capabilities, and comprehensive compliance reports.
Integrated Hardware Management and Support: Extends integration with My Oracle Support for a unique combination of proactive notifications and fixes plus peer-to-peer knowledge sharing that enables contract/entitlement validation, automated service requests, and service request tracking, all through Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center.
