ProcessMaker to offer Advanced Business Intelligence in its BPM software

March 23, 2011 No Comments

SOURCE:  ProcessMaker

ProcessMaker®, an industry leading Open Source Workflow and Open Source Business Process Management (BPM) Software will now include modules for advanced Business Intelligence and Data Integration thanks to an agreement with Orlando based Pentaho Corporation, the pioneer in agile business intelligence (BI).  Available immediately through Colosa and its global partners, the addition of Pentaho BI suite offers ProcessMaker customers state-of-the-art reporting, dashboards, analytics, and data integration.

ProcessMaker is a 100% web based, highly scalable, standards compliant, BPM application that  helps business and technology users manage business processes more efficiently and effectively. Business analysts can design processes using a drag-and-drop process designer interface that doesn’t require programming. An intuitive inbox allows employees to start new form driven processes or complete tasks passed to them by other users. Thanks to ProcessMaker, IT departments can now code less and better service the workflow needs of growing organizations. The addition of Pentaho BI offers a powerful reporting option for Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Business Analysts can now close the BPM quadrant loop by optimizing processes based on reports, dashboards, trends and data analysis provided by Pentaho.

According to Johan Abadie, Business Development Director of Colosa: “The addition of Pentaho BI in ProcessMaker allows us to address a critical need we would have been unable to tackle with a solution developed in house. The level of flexibility offered by Pentaho Reports, Dashboard and Analysis modules far surpassed other alternatives we explored.  Being able to create reports with drill down functionalities will be a great addition to an already complete BPM product.”

“Due to its Agile BI Platform, Pentaho is especially easy to integrate into an enterprise application like ProcessMaker,” said Ian Fyfe, Technology Evangelist at Pentaho Corporation. “As a BPM provider, ProcessMaker is focused on giving its customers the best tools possible to help them make better business decisions. With Pentaho Reporting, Analytics and Dashboards in their hands, ProcessMaker customers will enjoy the speed, scale and strength of Pentaho in their everyday work environments.”

ProcessMaker customers will have access to the following Pentaho technology: in certain subscription plans:

Pentaho Reporting
A fully interactive browser-based interface to create, manage and distribute reports. Pentaho Report Designer, with out-of-the-box chart types, barcodes, sparklines, survey scales, and streamlined report wizards, allows business users to build their own pixel perfect reports and ad hoc queries.

Pentaho Analysis
Pentaho Analyzer puts the analytical power in the hands of business users. With an interactive web-based access, users can navigate and explore data, perform ad hoc analysis, and drill through to underlying details to gain better insights to their data.

Pentaho Dashboards
Pentaho’s self-service dashboard designer lets business users easily personalize business views into key performance indicators, and use rich visual displays to analyze, monitor, and track business trends over time.

  • Data Integration (ETL)

Pentaho Data Integration delivers powerful Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) capabilities using an innovative, metadata-driven approach, and an intuitive, graphical, drag and drop design environment.
