Anyone working in the digital creative industries will be aware of the huge growth in app technology over the last few years. As mobile tech has improved at a rapid pace, it is now possible to hold everything from whole banks to supermarket inventories in the palm of your hand. This has led to a boom in innovation that has brought increased levels of competition into the sector.

It was inevitable that awards ceremonies would soon come along to highlight the key players in the industry. So far, three major events cater for it. Each aims to pick out the most important people and companies from across the world.

The Best Mobile App Awards

The Best Mobile App Awards are the industry leader in application technologies. Their recent award winner includes Kidoodle.tv, Planner 5D and the Rosetta Stone language app. Plus, as well as a yearly awards ceremony, monthly contests also take place.

Not only do they provide ceremonies, but signing up can also new brands some much-needed exposure. They aim to include new apps in their monthly newsletters and even a feature on the home page spotlights the most innovative ones of the month. If you are launching a new app, signing up could be very beneficial to your business.

International Gaming Awards

The International Gaming Awards are arranged by the online newspaper The iGaming Post. Taking place once a year, they have several categories for nominations. These range from areas such as the Best Customer Service Company of the Year to the Best Bingo and Casino Operators.

Not only does it incorporate casinos and sports betting, but poker and bingo sites also get nominations. Major sites such as Buzz Bingo have benefited from winning categories such as innovator of the year and used the accolade as a springboard to expand their range of live games, slots genres and bingo rooms.

Interestingly, the same company also has a Women in Gaming Diversity Award. This also takes place once per annum and celebrates contributions made by women to the industry. This is certainly a refreshing award category in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

UK Business Tech Awards

Concentrating solely on technology in the United Kingdom, these awards are extremely prestigious. Categories range from Fintech Innovators to eCommerce Companies of the Year. This year’s ceremony will be held in October 2022, in the capital of London.

Anyone can enter the competition and the same tech can be submitted for more than one category. However, a separate entry form must be filled in for each submission. There is a fee for entry but discounts are available for multiple category entrants.

These are just a few of the major tech awards going on this year. So, add these to your social calendar, but always keep your ear to the ground for smaller, local awards events as these ceremonies are often the first indicator of a potentially huge product or service. Plus the smaller events can often snowball into something much bigger too.
