Small businesses in Northeastern Pennsylvania received a surprise Christmas gift in the mail this week, a lump of coal. CoalCreative, a web and graphic design company based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA, officially launched their business on December 1st by sending out 50 pieces of coal to area businesses.

“We wanted to take advantage of the holidays being right around the corner and really grab people’s attention,” said Gerard Durling, owner of CoalCreative.

The company definitely grabbed the attention of some businesses when they found out that their gift of coal was redeemable for a 5-page business website.

“Every business should have a website or at least a way to connect with their company online. We’re hoping to bring more companies online by working within their budgets,” added Durling.

CoalCreative offers web, print and marketing services to small businesses starting as low as $95 for a website. They also offer photography services and have a studio located in Pittston, PA.

You can read more about CoalCreative’s marketing campaign in detail on their blog where they also discuss web and marketing strategies to improve small business.
