RESTON, Va.–December 19, 2011– Appian, the global innovator in enterprise and cloud-based business process management (BPM) software, today announced that global industry analyst firm Ovum has named Appian to the prestigious “Shortlist” in its new “Decision Matrix: Selecting a Business Process Management Vendor 2011” report.

The report evaluates BPM vendors based on a quantitative assessment of their technology capabilities, end-user sentiment and market impact. Top vendors are put in the “Shortlist” category, with others placed in “Explore” or “Consider” categories.
