New York, NY – January 14, 2013 — Computer Generated Solutions (CGS), a leading global provider of technology solutions, announced today the release of a new mobile Point of Sale (POS) application for Microsoft Dynamics AX Retail as part of the continued expansion of their retail business.  The unique application will support the Apple iPod and iPhone platforms and is a groundbreaking addition to today’s mobile marketplace.

The CGS Mobile POS for Microsoft Dynamics AX will enable retailers to perform standard Point of Sale transactions on-the-fly including processing sales transactions, voids and returns, scanning bar codes, processing discounts, maintaining customer records, and looking up prices, sales tax, and item information.

Additionally, it will allow retailers to perform more advanced functions including clienteling, mobile updating of their loyalty programs, high end customer capture, gift card and sales redemption, wireless printing/emailing of receipts, payment processing of credit or debit cards and start/end of day reporting.

“As the retail market continues to evolve, customers are demanding a more personalized buying experience,” said Paul Magel, President of the Applications Solutions Group at CGS. “The CGS Mobile POS for Microsoft Dynamics AX will enable our customers to provide that experience while affording them the scalability and stability of the Microsoft back-end platform, leading to improved service overall for retailers and highly satisfied consumers.”

As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for Dynamics AX, CGS and their development team created this robust application that is fully integrated with Microsoft Dynamics AX, and enhances the scope and reach of Microsoft’s rapidly growing retail system. Until now, customers had few options when it came to extending their system into the mobile space and faced expensive and risky custom development costs.
