Looked at purely on the merits of its design, Facebook’s new Timeline interface does much to make members’ profile pages more attractive. However, soon Timeline will not be optional — it will be mandatory. Users will have seven days to clean up their profiles, lest some embarrassing photo from years ago is revealed to others. It’s another testament to Facebook’s callousness toward user privacy.
