IBM Unveils New Holiday Shopping Trend Analysis App

November 21, 2014 No Comments

With the holiday shopping rush already underway, IBM has launched a new self-service tool to give you even more access to the latest real-time online shopping trends as they unfold.

IBM Benchmark Live allows you to analyze shopping trends across dozens of variables — from the hottest mobile devices to how much shoppers are spending on average this year — with the ability to download graphs, datagrams and other shareable assets. The new app is an extension of the IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark, the industry’s only real-time analytics platform that tracks billions of online transactions to give marketers and retailers 370+ performance indicators to benchmark themselves against industry peers while driving more targeted customer engagements.

You can take IBM Benchmark Live for a test drive today at www.ibm.com/benchmark.

Today’s launch follows IBM’s first-ever predictions for this year’s holiday shopping season. Based on its analysis of online and historical shopping trends, IBM is predicting that online sales will grow 15 percent over the five-day shopping period between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday, with mobile sales expected to increase 10 percent over last year. Check out the press release for more of our top predictions.

The IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark  is conducted and provided by IBM’s Smarter Commerce team, drawing upon innovation developed through IBM’s $3.5 billion investments in commerce and engagement solutions and expertise gained from work with 8,000 brands and 35,000 client commerce engagements globally.

In addition to the new self-service app, we’ll continue to send you ongoing alerts on the latest shopping trends from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday. If interested, I’m also happy to arrange for you to speak with an IBM Commerce expert today about the new app and how real-time analytics can help retailers and marketers deliver just the right promotion to just the right shopper this holiday season.
