Leading Hosted CMS Provider Offering Web Makeover to a Selected Non-Profit Organization

November 30, 2010 No Comments

SOURCE: PRWeb

The web is an enormously powerful tool for non-profit organizations. But rarely do they have the funds or the expertise to make the most of it.

Webvanta, a web services company, is seeking a non-profit organization that the company can “adopt” for 2011. The company is looking for a non-profit that badly needs a new website — an all-too-common situation — and has the ability to reach a lot of people.

The chosen non-profit organization will receive an all-new site, designed by a top-notch professional designer. Webvanta will also help with email marketing, event registration, and other web-related needs.

Webvanta is looking for an organization that:

  •      Has a significant amount of content to present on its site.
  •      Reaches a large number of people.
  •      Lacks the budget and technical skills to create a great site on its own.
  •      Has people to maintain the site’s content once it is built.

Why Is Webvanta Doing This?

All told, the non-profit organization chosen will receive approximately $25,000 worth of services.

Webvanta CEO Michael Slater commented, “We see so many non-profit web sites that are in desperate need of a rebuild. Many organizations lack the budget for the project, however. We are looking for an opportunity to contribute back our knowledge and technology for building great sites, giving a non-profit the benefit of everything we typically do for business clients.”

Webvanta’s hosted content management system is a perfect fit for non-profit organizations that have lots of content to share with the public. The Webvanta system makes it easy for editors to continually add new content, without having to worry about the details of web design. Frequent content updates make sites more useful to the organization’s constituents and more effective in drawing traffic from search engines.

For an example of a large non-profit site, see http://www.postcarbon.org. Webvanta rebuilt this site in 2008, replacing an older Drupal site and simultaneously slashing costs and improving the user experience for editors and visitors alike.

How Organizations can Apply

Any non-profit organization can apply by completing the form at:

Webvanta is collecting applications from now through December 31, 2010. In early January, Webvanta will choose one organization, according to the criteria described above, for this winter-spring 2011 project.

Chosen Organization Gets a Complete Web Solution

The organization Webvanta selects will receive a new, custom, professionally designed web site and three years of free hosting.

The Webvanta team will work with the organization’s leaders to assess the current site and other Internet marketing initiatives, define a plan for a new site, create a new design, implement the design, and train the organization’s staff to maintain it.

About Webvanta

Webvanta provides a hosted content management system that enables designers to create more effective sites with less effort. Founded in 2007 by two Adobe veterans, Webvanta offers site-building services as well as a hosted CMS, working primarily as a subcontractor to designers and giving them the option of using Webvanta as a complete solution for turning their Photoshop files into working sites.
