LONDON, UK – September 25, 2012 – Two executives from SOA Software, a leading provider of SOA governance, cloud and enterprise API management products, will be revealing new API management strategies at presentations today at the 5th International SOA, Cloud + Service Technology Symposium. Corey Scobie, VP of Technology for SOA Software, will be delivering a keynote address titled The API Economy is Here: Facebook, Twitter, Netflix and Your IT Enterprise. Maurizio Canton, SOA Software’s EMEA Technical Director, will participate in the Expert Panel on The Impact of the Cloud on IT and Business Employment.
“We feel honored to be selected to present at such a prestigious forum in our industry,” said Robert Medrano, EVP SOA Software. “The Cloud + Service Technology Symposium brings together some of the best minds in cloud computing and API development.”
The 2012 Symposium is being held at the Imperial College in London. The event explores an overarching theme, “Exploring Modern Service Technologies and Practices”, that focuses on contemporary IT innovations and trends, as well as the emergence of proven and field-tested industry practices and patterns. The International Symposium conference series, governed by Arcitura Education, is based on a “substance only” philosophy, meaning that selected speaker submissions are judged primarily on their educational and informational value. Today’s event in London features 80 speaker sessions across 13 conference tracks.
Enabling the API Economy
Enterprises are increasingly making business applications available as APIs in order to drive business growth and expose new revenue and partnership opportunities, and ultimately to improve business effectiveness. Open APIs allow external developers to build applications that leverage core business capabilities. Enterprise APIs are offered to a more limited group to enable more sensitive B2B or B2E (employee) applications. Both enterprise and open APIs are typically built on a foundation of enterprise SOA services. As such, they require robust governance.
SOA Software Atmosphere is the highest performing, most comprehensive API management solution on the market today. Atmosphere provides a secure, robust platform that companies can use to share their APIs with the growing app developer community, their partners, and customers. Atmosphere manages, monitors and secures companies’ APIs. Atmosphere ensures that these APIs deliver the level of service customers and partners require; that corporate and customer information and assets are secure; and that the integrity of the corporate brand is protected.
